Resolution on the situation in Swaziland

Meeting of the SI Africa Committee, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 28-29 March 2014

The Socialist International Africa Committee is concerned with the violation of fundamental human rights in Swaziland and the arbitrary arrest and incarceration of attorney Thulani Maseko, a member of the Lawyers for Human Rights and Bheki Makhubu, the Editor of the Nation Magazine under contempt of court charges.

Socialist International Africa Committee also calls on the authorities in Swaziland to unban political parties and scrap the suppression of Terrorism Act of 2008 which has banned our member party PUDEMO and her structures. We call for a constructive national dialogue for a transition to a  democratic dispensation.
