The Socialist International Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean, meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 9-10 April 2010, expresses its solidarity with the people of Brazil and its deep regret following the recent natural disasters that occurred in the State of Rio de Janeiro due to strong storms which provoked floods and landslides, causing hundreds of deaths, displacements and injuries.
