Meeting of the Socialist International Middle East Committee, United Nations Geneva

The Middle East Committee met at the United Nations Geneva on 22 November 1998, in advance of the Council of the International, chaired by Bjørn Tore Godal, Norwegian Labour Party (Norway, DNA) and Chair of the Committee.

Participants gathered to discuss the central issues concerning the region and prepared a statement on the Middle East which was subsequently adopted by the Council.
