Statement Concerning the Ongoing Developments in Nepal

As Socialist International we are extremely concerned by recent developments in Nepal.

We strongly condemn the physical violence against many political figures including the leader of our member party Sher Bahadur Deuba and the Foreign Minister of Nepal Arju Deuba.

Our thoughts are with the families of the 22 people that were killed during the recent violent protests and the more than one hundred people that were wounded.

Hoping that the democratic order will be re- established peacefully through dialogue without delay, we express our solidarity with our member the Nepali Congress Party in these challenging moments.
