Socialist International Statement on Release of former President of Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev

The Socialist International welcomes the release on humanitarian grounds of the former President of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambaev as well as the cancellation of all charges for which he had been imprisoned in 2020.

We recognize and appreciate the mediation work with the Kyrgyz authorities carried out by the President of the Socialist International, Pedro Sanchez.
