Statement from the Socialist International on the Events in Bolivia

We express our full solidarity with the democratically elected President, Luis Arce Catacora, and the Bolivian people.
We condemn the military movements in Bolivia.
We reaffirm our commitment to democratic principles and respect for human rights, and we urgently call for the will of the Bolivian people expressed in the democratic elections to be respected.
The Socialist International will closely monitor this situation and continue to support the people of Bolivia in their struggle for justice and democracy.
