Statement of Support for the Presidential Elections in Romania
The Socialist International extends its full support and best wishes to SI Vice President Marcel Ciolacu in the upcoming presidential elections in Romania.
As Prime Minister, Marcel Ciolacu has demonstrated significant leadership through his initiatives to increase the minimum wage, reduce bureaucracy through digitalization, and modernize Romania’s infrastructure. His efforts reflect a strong commitment to advancing the principles of justice, equality, and the rule of law—values that are especially critical in these challenging times when extreme-right demagogues seek to erode the foundations of our democracies.
