Socialist International meets Chad’s youth leaders to boost engagement and regional collaboration

This Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in N'Djamena, on the sidelines of the preparations for the meeting of the Africa Committee of the Socialist International (SI), which will take place on December 17-18, 2024, in Rabat, Morocco, the General Coordinator of the Socialist International, Chantal KAMBIWA, held an important working session with the leaders of the Union of Youth for Renewal (UJR), the youth wing of our political party, a member of the SI in Chad.

During this meeting, which lasted approximately 2 hours, the following topics were discussed:

  • The current situation of the SI, its activities, and its short-term agenda.
  • UJR's integration into the IUSY: collaboration with youth organizations from SI member parties in the African region and beyond.
  • Education and training of young people: awareness-raising and mobilization of young women on specific issues; the importance of programs and projects that also consider the concerns of young women and people with disabilities.
  • The importance of integrating the HeForShe Campaign for the elimination of violence against women and the respect for human rights.

The UJR leaders, very satisfied and enriched by this meeting, renewed their commitment and gratitude to their party, the UNDR, and to their national president, comrade Saleh Kebzabo, who is also the president of the SI Africa Committee.
