Resolution Project by the Council of the Socialist International In Solidarity with the People of Nicaragua
The Council of the Socialist International strongly condemns the systematic attack on democracy and fundamental rights in Nicaragua, exacerbated by the constitutional reforms of November 19, 2024, which institutionalize nepotism and eliminate municipal autonomy.
We demand the immediate cessation of repression and the restoration of fundamental freedoms in Nicaragua.
We urge the international community, the OAS, and the UN to adopt measures to guarantee democracy and human rights in the country.
Expressing our solidarity with the Nicaraguan people in their struggle for justice, freedom, and dignity.
Adopted in Rabat, Morocco, as a declaration of our global commitment to democracy and human rights.
