The Socialist International Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean, meeting in Lima on 6-7 May 2005, following an analysis of the need to strengthen our parties and movements with the essential and creative participation of young people, calls on its members to reinforce the work of political renewal, promoting and empowering young people and developing strategies of cooperation so that the creativity, participation and leadership of the youth of the region can be channelled through our organisations. It is vital to establish channels of communication and convergence with the natural youth organisations and for the Socialist International to be the reference point for the generations seeking a fairer Latin America and the Caribbean.
