The Socialist International Mediterranean Committee, meeting on 5 June 2012 in Madrid, expresses its solidarity with the gathering of supporters of the Egyptian revolution taking place at this time in Tahrir Square.
The Committee believes that the acquittal of those responsible for the deaths of several hundred demonstrators under the regime of Hosni Mubarak is unacceptable.
The process of democratisation in Egypt must continue. The SI expresses its support for the progressive and democratic forces of Egypt.
