International Women’s Day
8 March 2026
On this International Women’s Day, we wish to highlight the courageous struggles of women who are fighting for their rights and their freedom all over the world. In Africa, in Europe, in the United States, in Asia.
Our thoughts are with the women victims of armed conflicts, the women living under oppressive regimes, the women that see their rights threatened by a political backlash.
Their bravery and resilience in the face of oppression are a source of inspiration for us all. But we cannot leave them alone; they need a proactive support and we; progressives’ men and women must be at the frontline of this struggle.
We, members of the Socialist International, affirm our solidarity with these women fighting against oppression but also with those that have achieved a lot but will not stop until gender equality becomes a reality in all sectors.
The struggle for equal rights is a global issue that requires the commitment of each and every one of us, every day.
We call for international mobilization to support these struggles.
Together, we can build a future where every woman will live freely safely, without fear of violence, enjoying her full rights.
Together, we will raise our voices and act for a more just and equal world.
Rights, Justice, Action for ALL women and girls.
