The economic, social and institutional crisis suffered by Haiti is a concern of the member parties of the Socialist International of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Committee reiterates its appeal to the international community, especially multilateral organizations (UN, OAS) and the United States, France, Canada, the European Union and others to support Haiti and act as promoting agents in the construction of a broad consensus among the different social and political actors of the country with a view to its stabilization, security and overcoming the crisis, allowing the undertaking of social and economic reconstruction that will lead Haiti on the path of development.
The Socialist International expresses its commitment to decisively promote around the world the search for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Haiti with the active participation of the International Community.
In this respect, the Committee commits itself to the creation of a regional monitoring and support commission, with the member political parties, to propose possible and realistic solutions.
