Strategic Communication Workshop - Madrid
On 9 October 2025, the Socialist International convened its first Strategic Communication Workshop in Madrid, hosted at the headquarters of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE). The workshop brought together representatives of member parties to examine the evolving challenges of political communication in an increasingly complex and fragmented media landscape, marked by rapid technological change, declining trust in institutions and shifting patterns of political engagement.
Discussions focused on strengthening the strategic communication capacity of member parties, enhancing their ability to listen to and engage meaningfully with citizens, and improving the effectiveness of their campaign communication. A number of member parties showcased their best practices, sharing practical experiences and approaches to messaging, narrative development and outreach. Particular attention was given to the importance of clear, values-based communication that resonates with diverse audiences. The workshop formed part of Socialist International’s broader efforts to support its member parties in adapting to contemporary communication challenges and in developing more effective, responsive and impactful political communication strategies.
