Declaration on Puerto Rico

The SI Congress, at its meeting in Madrid on 25-27 November, reiterates its historical recognition of Puerto Rico as a Latin American and Caribbean nation, and expresses its solidarity with the repeated resolutions adopted by the Special Committee on Decolonization of the United Nations whereby a call is made to the government of the United States to take the necessary measures so that the people of Puerto Rico can fully exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
